As of 4/01/02, Canadian Pacific has re-numbered all of the D&H locals to coincide with their local scheme.  The "D" stands for the region (D&H) and the number stands for the train.

Toys for Tots Extra

D&H and the USMC run a Toys for Tots train delivering toys to needy children two Saturdays before Christmas at 08:00.  Stops are made in Mechanicville, Saratoga, Fort Edward, Whitehall, Port Henry, and Plattsburgh.  Train returns same day.  D&H 7312 is the customary leader.

268/269 are run from the NS and enter D&H territory and Binghamton.  The NS power almost always stays on the train, and is usually a pair of GE C40-9Ws.

SC stands for Saratoga-Champlain Division, and theoretically, the number following is the trick the local is run.  However, that is no longer the case.

SU stands for Susquehanna Division, and operates the same as above.

413 becomes B&M MOED with all but one of the locos, which takes the Saratoga cars northward.  412 is EDMO plus cars down from Saratoga.

*The 23:30 West Side switcher has been abolished as of early February, 2002.

All B&M trains are run as extras.  For example, EDRJ could be called "EDRJ extra 377 west" so it can be reported either way. 

EDMO/MOED are merchandise trains that typically run with CP power.  D&H 413 becomes MOED, EDMO becomes D&H 412.

AYMO/MOAY are IMS trains that use GRS power.  They connect with D&H 268/269 at Mohawk.  Occasionally MOED and MOAY are combined out of Mohawk if crews are short.

EDRJ/SEED run to Rotterdam, then are turned over to CSX as B765.  Power seen on EDRJ will return two days later on SEED.

EDSR/SRED were reinstated on Monday, May 6th.  Trains will run east on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, returning to Saratoga the next day.  Guilford power is used on this train.

Current route for the Ethan Allen is through Schenectady to Saratoga, then up to Whitehall and over to Rutland.  Within the next year, service is expected to shift over the B&M to Hoosic Junction, which means the Ethan Allen will then run on the joint trackage of the Freight Main to Mechanicville instead.  Trains 70 and 71 were added on 4/07/02, new numbers for the 68/69 on the weekend.
